Despite being put into production early and made using the parts from many other in-production car lines, the low-cost Ford Mustang was one of the most popular vehicles of all time. More than one million Mustangs were sold in the first eighteen months after the line's release. Much of this popularity was due to the relatively low cost of the cars, but a lot was also driven by the vehicle's sleek looks and power.
